STATE DEPARTMENT WEB SITE HACKEDSource: Security Wire DigestPosted on October 6, 2002 Hackers last week defaced a U.S. Department of State Web site, replacing www.usinfo.state.gov with obscenities. According to Reuters, the site was hosted on a server outside the State Department and no sensitive or classified information was compromised. The site was shut down for repair and was still unavailable Friday. It's not known if the attack was politically motivated. The incident is under investigation
